Abilkhan Kasteyev (KAZ. Abilhan Esteem, 1904, the village Czyzyny, the Semirechye oblast, Russian Empire (now Almaty oblast, Kazakhstan) — 1973) — Kazakh painter and watercolorist, people's artist of Kazakh SSR, the founder of the Kazakh fine art.

Born in the village of Czyzyny near the town of Jarkent (Almaty oblast). From 1929 to 1931 Kasteyev studied at the art Studio of Nikolai Gavrilovich Khludov (then living in Kazakhstan). Then from 1934 to 1937 he continued his studies in Moscow, at the art Studio im. Krupskaya.

Most famous works:Attack squad Amangeldy. Born in the village of Czyzyny near the town of Jarkent (Almaty oblast). From 1929 to 1931 Kasteyev studied at the art Studio of Nikolai Gavrilovich Khludov (then living in Kazakhstan). Then from 1934 to 1937 he continued his studies in Moscow, at the art Studio im. Krupskaya.

Most famous works: "the farm is a dairy farm", "Milking of mares", "cotton", "Collective one", "abduction of the bride", "Bought bride", "Golden grain", "Aksay quarry", "skating rink Medeo", "Turksib", "Talas Valley", "Biggest step".

Portraits: the Kenesary Kasymov, Abai, Chokan Valikhanov, Zhambyl. His best portrait is considered to be a "Portrait of Amangeldy Imanov".

Many works of Abilkhan Kasteev can be seen in the Kazakh art gallery named after Shevchenko, Alma-ATA.
