Eugene
Alexandrovich Sokolov

Born in the village of Chebsara, Vologda region. She studied at the Yaroslavl art school (1954-1959), M. Kichigina. A member of the Union of Russian artists since 1964.

Participant of art exhibitions since 1959. The artist's works are exhibited at the all-Russian, interregional, regional, and international art exhibitions. Personal painting exhibition held in Vologda (1978, 1984, 1986, 1990, 1997), Cherepovets (1963, 1984), since 1991 in the summer working in Germany (personal exhibition in Munich, Dachau and other cities).

Lives and works in Vologda since 1979. The works are in Vologda regional picture gallery, Cherepovets Museum Association, Museum-reserves and museums of local lore of the Vologda region, in private kollektsii in Russia and abroad.

The artist works in the technique of oil and tempera painting in the genres of landscape, still life, thematic painting, domestic painting. Major works: "The native land" (1978), "the Scythe" (1983), "Ordinary day" (1983), "I live here" (1983), "the Day passed" (1983), "minutes of music. Portrait of the poet" (1986), "Haying time. The Scythe" (1986), "Jingle Bells" (1983), Forget-Me-Not(1983).
