Willem Hanraets was born in the Dutch city of Heerlen on 9 November 1940. Artistic talent he discovered at an early age. Sixteen years, Willem began teaching at the Academy of arts of the city of Maastricht. After four years of study talented student, the Belgian government gave a scholarship that allowed him to continue training at the National Institute of fine arts in Antwerp. There he soon came and my own workshop. Willem Hyeres studied with eminent professors Sarina and Vaarten. Skilled craftsmen were delighted that worthy change grows, and otherwise assist in the promotion of the Willem. In it they saw continuation of the tradition of the Belgian-Dutch school.
