Modern experts tend to believe "the Fall of Icarus" from Brussels high-quality early copy of a lost work by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

It is noteworthy that this painting as a work by Brueghel is mentioned in the poem "musée des Beaux arts" of Hugh Auden WH:

Zhivopisuya us the suffering, the master
the old was not wrong, it was clear without words
the whole human essence of him, when it
drink, eat, go somewhere, open the window, yesterday
when, again, the elderly in fulfillment of prophecy, with bated breath,
waiting for the miracle of Christmas, and a happy people boys
loud skates cut the ice at the edge of the forest, forgetting
Il not noticing nor oxen, no daycare, no family, no shepherds.

Oh, the old masters are not forgotten,
that flowering and fruiting of a Martyr root
in obscure holes, often under cover of dust,
what's a dog a dog's life without a trace is absorbed, and a horse
scratches his butt on a tree, while the owner-rider of a Martyr tormented.

but pan dropped or lost Icarus - he is one, the sun pours in
as expected, the rays on your feet that turn white in the corner, sinking in the mud,
exquisite craft, which has witnessed the unprecedented - boy
fell from the sky - then calmly floats.
