Seven was to take a piece of the Poor Flame to bring to their world. A gift of the Blossom that would grant any wish.
No one had explained to them how it was supposed to happen, or why the Blossom had chosen them. Recently, a boy with golden hair and a flock of birds appeared here, and he told them that the Blossom spoke to him through dreams.
Thomas didn't believe in all these tales of wish fulfillment. He knew that the Blossom sprouted through thousands of worlds and created a network of portals that allowed one to move through each time losing and gaining something. Most likely their purpose was to spread seeds that would sprout new doors, Paths and mouths leading to the Blossom.
A network of translucent colored threads emerged from a crevice in the ground and wove themselves into a glowing Path. The last member of the journey had arrived, and it was time to go.
