Was born on 17 February 1913 in Mozdok, North Caucasus.

In 1940 Vladimir Krantz graduated from the architectural faculty of the Leningrad Engineering-construction Institute.

Participates in exhibitions since 1957.

Member of the Leningrad Union of artists since 1972.

Paints landscapes, genre paintings, still lifes.

Personal exhibitions in Leningrad (1964, 1977, 1991), St. Petersburg (1992, 1995, 2002).

He was born in Mozdok, North Caucasus. Painter. A brilliant representative of the landscape painters of the Leningrad school. Author of numerous paintings dedicated to St. Petersburg and its surroundings, the cycle of work in the Crimea, the Caucasus, lake Baikal, the Baltic States and the Pushkin Museum-reserve.

In Mozdok V. Krantz attended classes in the Studio of the artist Alexei Ivanovich Turbine. He graduated in 1940 the architecture faculty of the construction Engineering Institute in Leningrad. After the war, the artist worked in LENISA, at the same time attended classes in the Studio of G. S. Nevelshteyn. Under his influence, formed the features of the future individual creative writing of Vladimir Krantz. It is based on adherence to the traditions of Russian realistic school, of field the letter. Krantz participates in exhibitions since 1957, it is the familiarity with the artists Osipov, N. Timkova, By I. Varichev, V. Ovchinnikov, D. Majewski. In 1964 in Leningrad took place the first personal exhibition of landscapes by V. Krantz. In 1972, Krantz taking the Union of artists. His personal exhibitions took place in Leningrad in 1977, 1991, 1992, 1995.

In the 1960-1970s by V. Krantz works hard in the house of creativity Staraya Ladoga, at the Academic Dacha, where moving closer to the artist Vladimir Zagoneka. In 1980-90-ies V. Krantz participates in numerous international exhibitions of Soviet art. In this period, the artist writes annually in the Pushkin Mountains, travels to lake Baikal and the Urals. And still the main material for his paintings he finds in Leningrad: in Strelna, Znamenka, Peterhof, Pavlovsk.

The artist's works are in regional museums of Russia, private collections in our country and abroad. They repeatedly reproduced in the press, including in the catalogs of exhibitions and auctions of Russian art in Japan, Germany, France, Belgium, Finland, USA.
