Born in seven workers in Estonia.
1908. – 10. – studied at the Riga evening school of painters, and after graduation he became a master of interior trim area.

He was an active member of the circle of Marxists. Because it is 1910. emigrated to Western Europe. Worked in the Brussels port a loader, where he began to write portraits to order, so he was making the later years.
1912. – lived in Switzerland, who personally knew Rainis and Aspasia, painted them and wrote a memory of them.
He traveled extensively on foot throughout Europe.
1921. – returns to Latvia.
1922. – received a scholarship of the Latvian Cultural Foundation and went to Italy, to 2. World War I was there many times.
1912. - participated in exhibitions.
1914. – regularly exposed his works in exhibitions of the "Kunsthaus", with panoramic views across the Dolomites.
Solo exhibitions
In Riga (1921., 1922., 1925., 1970., 1976.), Tallinn (1923.), Koknese (1969.).
Wrote landscapes of Latvia, Switzerland, Capri, figurative compositions and portraits in watercolor technique. Documentary primitive. His drawings have great cultural and historical value.
