Houston Museum of Fine Arts invites you to visit the exhibition
"Georgia O'Keefe, Photographer.".
This is the first exhibition devoted to the work of artist Georgia O'Keeffe as a photographer. Nearly 100 photographs from her newly explored archive showcase the American icon's modernist approach to the medium. The photographs are complemented by paintings and drawings reflecting all phases of her work.
Georgia O'Keeffe made a career as one of the most important artists of the 20th century. She became famous for her paintings of flowers, skyscrapers, and landscapes, but her lifelong connection to photography has yet to be explored. Georgia O'Keeffe expressed her unique vision in every aspect of her life, and by the time she began taking photographs in the mid-1950s, her personality and artistry were already well known.
