Jasper Johns: The Mind/Mirror

Mostra 29 settembre 2021 − 13 febbraio 2022

The Whitney Museum of American Art presents an exhibition "Jasper Johns: The Mind/Mirror." - the largest retrospective ever devoted to Jones' work.

The exhibition, organized chronologically, includes both the author's most iconic works and those presented to the public for the first time - a total of about 250 works: paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures.

Jasper Johns' groundbreaking work shocked the art world when it was first shown in the late 1950s, and the author has continued to challenge new audiences--and himself--for more than sixty-five years of his career. Jones's deeply generative practice helped ignite new movements, including Pop Art, Minimalism and Conceptualism, and to this day inspires generations of artists that follow.
