Pen and Brush. Masterpieces of British Drawings

The Courtauld Institute of Art in London holds an exhibition "Pen and Brush. Masterpieces of British Drawings.

The exhibition showcases the best drawings and watercolors from the museum's collection, from tiny pen and ink drawings by Isaac Oliver (late 16th century) to large-scale works by Henry Moore (1942).

Works from the "golden age" of British watercolor include those by J. M. W. Turner, John Constable, and Edward Deiss depicting a panoramic view of Somerset House on the Thames. A highlight is a little-known abstract drawing, Vorticist Composition with Black and White Figures (1915) by Helen Saunders, one of two female members of the avant-garde Vorticist group of the early 20th century.
