Biography and information
My name is Elena Afanasyeva. I am a professional artist, working in my studio in Irkutsk. My paintings are in private collections in Russia, USA, Germany, Austria, Montenegro.
I love color as air and consider it the 5th element. In my work I try to convey the inner force, energy, pressure of the image through the energy of color. It helps me to create plastic images filled with human content.Whatever is the theme of the work, I pass it through myself.
The composition of my works can be different. There is dynamism and statism, rhythmic drawings. But the dynamics of the composition always centers on the main image, focusing the viewer's attention on the essence, on the disclosure of internal meanings.
Through this technique, my portraits invite the viewer to immerse themselves in themselves, creating a dialogue between the image and the viewer.
Evoking emotions, thoughts, and responses from my work does not excite the mind, but pacifies, relaxes, and spiritualizes the viewer.
Inspiration for me is my life, moments, sunrises, nature, music, the sea. People like to observe the ocean, the sea and everything related to them, it gives peace. That's why my work is created with a nautical theme. I like to work with oil and acrylics.
