Leonidovich Belousov

Born in Palekh. Honored artist of the RSFSR (1974). Hereditary painter, son of L. I. Belousova. Member of the Union of artists of the RSFSR in 1958. In 1944-1949, he studied at the Palekh art school. Teacher - D. N. Butorin, A. V. Kotuhin. Since 1953 he worked at the Palekh art-production workshops. Was Executive Secretary of the Palekh branch of the Union of artists of the RSFSR, Secretary of the party Bureau and Vice-Chairman of the arts Council.

Worked in monumental painting (the design of the concert hall in the hotel "Russia" in Moscow), engaged in VNIGNI illustration ("the Word about Igor's regiment" (1980)). Themes of works: folklore, literature, genre scenes. A participant in exhibitions since 1956.

Works by R. L. Belousova are stored in museums: gmpi, PIM, Vyatka OXM, OXM Ivanovskoye, Perm state art gallery, GMAN, HF Russia.
