Born in Dorogobuzh, Smolensk province. He studied at the Kiev art school (circa 1919) under Fyodor Krichevsky and VHUTEIN in Leningrad (1923-26) under K. S. Petrov-Vodkin, N. Uh. Radlov. Thesis - "Laundress" and a sketch "!925. China awakened". Lived in Smolensk. Participated in exhibitions since 1928. Was a member of the AHR (1928 - 32). Among his works (oil) "To night" (1920, Museum of local lore, Petrozavodsk), “Magnolia" (1930),"After the rain" (1935), "House on the edge" (1935),"Spring landscape" (1939), "Green island" (1940), as well as landscape drawings and watercolors. Exhibition of works by Baranowski was held in Smolensk (1935).
