Born in 1923, Early childhood spent on the birthplace of his father, D. Buhteeva Vologda region. He studied at the secondary art school under all-Russian Academy of arts. In 1951 graduated from the Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture. I. E. Repin at the faculty of graphics. Since 1951 - member of Union of artists of the USSR. Since 1966 - member of the Union of journalists of the USSR. Is Professor at the Institute. I. E. Repin, Director of personal workshop, the Dean of faculty, head. the graphics Department, full member of the Academy of arts, people's artist of Russia. Honorary citizen of the city of Cherepovets. Permanent participant of domestic, foreign and international exhibitions. Died in 2001 in Saint Petersburg.
