Born in 1918 in the village of Osinovka, Saratov region Graduated from the Academy of arts in Riga, a workshop of Professor J. H. Tillberga. In 1949-58, he taught at the Riga Academy of arts. 1950 participates in Moscow, all-Union and Republican exhibitions. Works in the genres of portrait and narrative paintings. Part of the work devoted to the great Patriotic war. Works are in museums of the Ministry of culture of Russia, Art Fund of the artists Union of Russia and also in private collections in Russia, UK, France, Japan, and South Korea. During the great Patriotic war, fought on the Volkhov front, as part of 49 the army was a fireworker. Lieutenant. He was awarded orders and medals.

Born in the village Osinovka (now Volsky district, Saratov region)

In 1938 he graduated from the Stalingrad art College.

In 1939 he entered the Kharkov art Institute, where in 1941, a volunteer went to the front.

From 1945 to 1949 he continued his education at the Academy of arts of the Latvian SSR.

In 1949, with honours, a diploma painting "Gorky in the Penates at Repin".

Since 1950, working first as an assistant and then a senior lecturer in the Studio of a famous portrait painter, Professor J. H. Tillberga, a disciple of Ilya Repin.

Since 1954 a member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

Since 1959 lives and works in Moscow.

1996 - personal exhibition, gallery "Zamoskvorechye", Moscow.

2000 - personal exhibition at the Kuznetsk bridge, Moscow.

For her works, the artist was repeatedly awarded with diplomas of the Moscow Union of artists of the RSFSR and the Moscow branch of the art Fund of the RSFSR.

The work of Y. I. Kozlova are in Latvian art gallery, in the Saratov art Museum, other museums and private collections in Russia and abroad - in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Finland.
