Petrovich Tkachev

People's artist of the RSFSR, full member of the USSR Academy of arts, laureate of USSR State prize and prize of the RSFSR behalf I. E. Repin. Together with his brother S. P. Tkachev is the author of works on historical-revolutionary themes and genre. Born in 1925 in the village of Chugunovka Bryansk region. He graduated in 1951 from the Moscow state art Institute. VI Surikov in the Studio of G. G. Ryazhsky. Participant of art exhibitions since 1948.

Graduated MGHI them. V. I. Surikov in the workshop of D. Mochalskogo. With 1960 together with his brother Sergei lives and works in Moscow. Member of the USSR Academy of arts, people's artist of USSR, laureate of State prize. I. E. Repin and the State prize of the USSR. The main areas of art - historical and revolutionary painting, book illustrations, easel graphics. Joyful motifs, colored shadows and bright reflections become integral features of the painting Tkachev brothers, so the brothers earned the reputation of "Soviet impressionist". In the future, their works occupied an important place in thematic painting, dedicated to peasant life and village life. Solo exhibitions of artists held in Belgrade (1961), Moscow (1961, 1975, 1979, 1992, 2002), Leningrad (1961), Kuibyshev, Saratov, Volgograd, Sverdlovsk. The work of Alexei and Sergei Tkachev is stored in the State Tretyakov gallery, State Russian Museum, in many museums of Russia and private collections abroad.
