Biography and information

I. Tanks, came relatively late in painting, studied with, Peresinotti and at the Academy of fine arts (1771-1778). For graduation picture "Rural holiday" was recognized as "designated" in academics. And in 1785 was awarded the title of academician for the painting "the Village and prikinuvshis in the hold the fire that is required in the night time to represent the people saving themselves, cattle and houses from the spread of fire."

Wrote im Tanks landscapes and domestic (and not only the household, judging by the pictures) scenes on the background of nature. Naturally, all of his paintings were executed in accordance with the academic regulations, and therefore bore (note to people of the XVIII century) idealized beauty. And, perhaps, not only for those times that the approach to the purpose of art has been very positive.
