Born in Palekh. Hereditary painter, son of A. V. Khokhlov. In 1944-1949, he studied at the Palekh art school. Teacher - A. V. Kotuhin. Since 1949 he worked in the Association of Palekh artists.
Themes of works: folklore, literature. Participant of exhibitions since 1954. The works of Z. A. Khokhlova is stored in the State Museum of Palekh art.
