Biography and information

A graduate of the Academy of fine arts 1761 (trained with 1759 painting at the Academy of Sciences). In 1763 – 2 silver medals; in 1765, agreed to give the sword "the first competition"; in 1767, was instructed to learn to write and draw the younger age of the students of the Academy of arts; he was also charged and engraving class. Engraver cutter, the son of a priest, born in the Ukraine and 1741 17 years he came to Petersburg and enrolled in drawing classes at the Academy of Sciences. In 1760 he submitted to the President of the Academy of Arts Igor Shuvalov following request: "I niepodlegosci through habit has learned to draw and cut on copper, then, by the help of some benefactors, sought the case to come to Sanktpeterburg, last 759 years he studied drawing at the art Academy of Sciences, on the Costa. This petition is the only document that preserved some biographical information about the early life of S. the Petition was granted, and S. was enrolled and engraving class Chemesov. Chief among them: 1) "in KN. Baryatinsky", for its rarity are expensive; 2) "the Merchant I. S. Chirkin" (1770); 3) "General P. I. Yakovlev", 8°; 4) "SV. Family with St Elizabeth" (under the engraving there is the remark, "Wrote C. Bourdon, copied Estampa P. Sikhosana Kazan. Gr. Srebr."); 5) "the Daughter feeds the father's breast" — the Board tries. in Acad. hood.; 6) "Relaxed" (below the inscription: "His Lordship... vysokogorskomu P. V. Sheremetev... from Graviora G. Srebr... podlin. G. Grease... in SPb. 1770") — in the sheet, one of the least successful things; 7) "the Holy Evangelist Matthew" Board in the Kiev-Pechersk printing; 8) three allegorical female figures, dancing around the palm tree on which is placed the monogram of Catherine II; finally, a series of vignettes. In addition, Fioriolo mentions S., as the author of the prints: "the Roman Christians" by lagrenée, and "a Sick father" Grace. ?. ?. In 1767 he was instructed to learn to write and draw a younger age group, with a salary of 150 rubles a year; he also entrusted the engraving class with the addition for 80 rubles. In 1769 Srebrenicke from the Academy came out; 19 Feb 1772; married, as appears in the marriage record, "free girl containing luterskie the law" Darya Fedorova, a December 10, 1779, died (Alphabet, Petrova). Two vignettes for the Establishment of the Educational house, ed. 1763: 1) Russia specifies the kneeling woman, the monogram "E. II" in the light. This same Board is placed and in the edition of 1781, No. 15; 2) seated woman with Laurel branch in hand; and 3) screensaver with glowing hearts at the top. 11. In this book, in the text, there are vignettes: 3 Panina, Gerasimov 2 and 4 without the name of the engraver.
