Jeweler, graphic artist, painter, sculptor

Born on August 4, 1953 in the village of Krasnoye on the Volga.

According to family tradition, he studied at the Krasnoselsky Art-Industrial College (1969-1972), having received the profession of a master in the artistic processing of metal.

In 1972, he began independent creative activity in Tomsk, in Siberia, created works of jewelry, participated in art exhibitions of the region - Tomsk, Ulan-Ude, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, and Moscow.

In 1984 he joined the Union of Artists of the RSFSR.

In 1987, he moved from Tomsk to the city of Vologda, where he continued his artistic career, combining the traditions of jewelry art of the Usol’s enamels, northern mobile, Vologda lace with a modern fine language.

In collaboration with lace artist V.D. Veselova began to combine lace with metal, created lace jewelry, the products of modern jewelry created by him are now in the collection of the All-Union State Institute of Chemical and Chemical Engineering.

Having independently mastered the technology of lace-making, he came up with spatial compositions that combined lace and metal.

In 1989, 1991, 1993 he took part in the international biennale of contemporary lace in Brussels (Belgium).

In 1989, his compositions received special recognition: Queen of Belgium Fabiola purchased the song “Night Butterflies” from the exhibition and donated it to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York (United States)

Based on knowledge and skills in the use of enamel, he worked in this technique at the same time, in 1987 and 1992 he took part in international open air enamel in Palanga, and in 1992 he took part in the XIth international biennale of enamel in Limoges (France )

In 1995, he took part in the world quilt exhibition dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Columbus' discovery of America in New York; the artist's work was marked with a diploma.

A series of works followed, where the patchwork technique was combined with metal appliqués and other art techniques.

Since the mid-1990s, he began to work intensively in painting, he painted in oil, gouache, acrylic, and pastel pencils, took part in international open airs and painting exhibitions in the Tora Cavenese (Italy), in Alytus (Lithuania); his works were shown at exhibitions of the International Association of Artists “Sunny Square” in Moscow.

In 1998, at a solo exhibition in Vologda, he showed works in his new collage and sculpture techniques.

In 1999, the following solo exhibition of sculptures followed, this time in combination with pastels; in the same 1999, he participated in the international open-air and sculpture exhibition in Rostock (Germany).

Solo exhibitions were also held in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 in Vologda, in 2004 and 2006 in St. Petersburg, in 2004 in Prague, in 2007 in Totma.

The artist’s works are in museums and private collections in Russia (Moscow, Vologda, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Barnaul), the USA (New York), South Korea (Seoul), Finland, Germany, France, Belgium, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
