Tula gunsmith. In 1811 he entered the Academy of fine Arts under the instruction of Emperor Alexander I. In 1813 - 2 silver medal. In 1815 - 1 silver medal and the title of "appointed by carved in stone artrate of the Emperor; in 1816 defined in place of the deceased academician Esakova to the Academy to teach carving on a sturdy stones; in 1819 he received the certificate of degree 1 for the title of artist. In 1820 the academician of carved in stone the story: "mercury, giving the Golden Apple to Paris". In 1831 appointed Professor 3 degrees on the part of the engraving on the sturdy rocks. (Kondakov)
