Biography and information

He studied at the teachers Seminary in Valmiera. He was a member of the First world war. Also worked as an official in the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Some time A. Silzemnieks studied with T. Zalkalna, and in the Studio of V. Tone (1920 – 23).

In exhibitions the artist has participated since 1930.

Personal exhibitions are organized in Riga (1932) and cēsis (1933).

He participated in exhibitions of Culture Foundation etc.

A. Silzemnieks was a member of the society of artists Akusala and one of its founders. In 1940 the artist was arrested.
