Pushkin Museum to them. A.S. Pushkin presents an exhibition of a collection of artistic works of Moscow philanthropist Sergey Ivanovich Schukin and his brothers, which is unprecedented in scale and content.

The exhibition covers the most important artistic movements of the late XIX - early XX century, from impressionism to modernism and introduces the audience to the masterpieces of Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Paul Gauguin, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and many others. The composition of the exhibition - more than 450 works: painting, drawing, sculpture, objects of decorative and applied art.
Participating museums: the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. A.S. Pushkin, the State Hermitage Museum, the State Historical Museum, the State Museum of the East, the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the State Museum of Ceramics and the “Kuskovo Mansion of the 18th Century”, the Museum of Fine Arts (Budapest). In particular, the Hermitage presents about 60 works a huge canvas “Dance” by A. Matisse, once written for the Shchukin mansion in Moscow.
The exhibition recreates the dramatic history of the Moscow merchant family Shchukin, its unprecedented power and extinction after the 1917 revolution. The history of the Shchukins family will be told with the help of the greatest masterpieces of art: impressionist and modernist canvases, unique works of oriental art, paintings by old masters and pieces of French furniture of the 18th century. The exposition allows the viewer to plunge into the life of Paris, Moscow and Berlin of the beginning of the 20th century, rich in artistic events, the active participants of which were the Shchukins brothers.
