French impressionism. Masterpieces from the collection Ordrupgard

Monet "is nothing but an eye - but what an eye!". That is how Paul Cezanne appreciated his colleague Claude Monet, who sought to capture the fleeting in his paintings. For him and other impressionists, personal study of nature or the city in the open air was important. Works filled with light and flowers are presented at the exhibition."French Impressionism" in Prague's Kinsky Palace. From sent from his unique collection of French art the Ordrupgard Museum in Denmark.

The exhibition includes works by Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley and Camille Pissarro. The viewer will also be able to draw artistic parallels with other artistic trends. Romantic painting will be presented by Eugene Delacroix, and the realistic method by Gustave Courbet or artists of the so-called “Barbizon School”, such as Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot and Charles-Francois Dobigny. The number of sixty paintings at the exhibition also includes masterpieces of the post-impressionists Paul Cezanne and Paul Gauguin.
