David Hockney: Drawings from Life

Exhibition 27 February − 28 June 2020
The first major exhibition dedicated to David Hockney's drawings in more than twenty years, "David Hockney: Drawings from Life”, Explores Hockney as a draftsman from the 1950s to the present, focusing on images of himself and a small group of people close to him: his muse Celia Bertwell; his mother, Laura Hockney and others.

Presenting about 150 works from public and private collections around the world, as well as from the David Hockney Foundation, the exhibition will trace the history of his work.

The exposition includes a series of new portraits; color pencil drawings created in Paris in the early 1970s; and a selection of drawings from an intense period of self-study during the 1980s, when the artist created a self-portrait every day for two months.
