State Tretyakov Gallery holds an exhibition
"Faces of Art Nouveau".
The new exhibition project reveals different facets of the art of Russian art nouveau, which blossomed in the late 1890s - 1900s. Viewers will be able to see the beloved works of talented masters of the early twentieth century: A.Ya. Golovin, K.F. Bogayevsky, I.I. Brodsky, A.I. Savinov, F.V. Botkin, V.I. Denisov, O.L. Della-Vos-Kardovskaya, N.P. Ulyanov, A.S. Golubkina, S.T. Kononkov, N.A. Andreev.
The exhibition includes works of painting, sculpture, as well as advertising posters and posters. It is this mass production was destined to become a means of communication of high art with the demands of the general public at the turn of the century. Many prominent artists (K.A. Somov, L.S. Bakst, I.Y. Bilibin, E.E. Lanceret, S.Y. Sudeikin) introduced the techniques of easel painting and graphics, book illustration, postcard, theatrical and decorative art into the artistic language of the poster.
