Came to St. Petersburg from the Italian city of Varese in 1783 with his father Pietro. Father and son started a private workshop for making fireplaces with bas-reliefs, busts, artistic tombstones, decorative vases, cut from marble mirror frames, table top, garden sculpture made of alabaster "in nature size", carried out the casting of metal.

At the invitation of Emperor Paul I, S. P., Campioni in the 1790s took part in the creation of architecturally-Park ensemble of Gatchina, working in different genres of art.

In 1795, Campioni workshop moved to Moscow. Campioni continued to perform ornamental and decorative work, collaborating with major Moscow architects. Painters and modelers, Campioni engaged in the decoration of public buildings and palaces: Noble Assembly on moss, the Palace of count Razumovsky on the Pea Field, the house-pigeon count G. Orlov-Chesmensky in the Kaluga Zastava (arch. M. F. Kazakov), Hospice house of the Sheremetevs on the Sukharevka (architect John. Quarenghi and Gilardi).

Campione, decorated the interiors of stucco and marble friezes (1810).In the Palace of the manor Sheremetev, Ostankino (architect F. kamporezi), Campione first applied the then fashionable finish "stuck" (imitation marble) and performed stucco wall bas-relief, "Bacchante with a lute" in the gallery of the Italian pavilion.

Campioni, fulfilled commemorative column in honor of the visit of Catherine II to the Golitsyns ' estate - Yusupov Arkhangelsk (1827), son of S. P. Campioni Alexander created for the estate "Botik of Peter I" in Pereslavl-Zalessky, a memorial obelisk to commemorate the visit of Emperor Nicholas I (1856).

In the 1830s by order of the Moscow collector Musin-Pushkin and Professor of the Moscow University of M. Ya Mudrova workshop, Campioni executed written instrument of onyx and agate.

Campioni created installed in Tbilisi artistic headstone to the poet and diplomat Alexander Griboyedov.

To work on the orders of the princes Golitsyn, Campioni had 1796г on the construction of the Golitsyn hospital, where he completed the decoration of natural marble and painting "grisaille". Campioni engaged in finishing of interiors of the manor house in Kuzminki (1804г), then their models were made of cast iron, 16 sculptures of Egyptian lions to decorate the fence to the manor courtyard, the entrance to the manor house and residential wings round pier on the upper pond (1838), the obelisk in honor of the visiting Kuzminki Emperor Peter I. On the project of ARH. M. D. Bykovsky, Campioni performed for the pavilion of the Kuzminki "Iron canopy" for the monument of Empress Maria Feodorovna (1848), replacing the gazebo rotunda. Campioni created in Kuzminki monument-column in memory of the Emperor Nicholas I (1856).
