Born in the city of Sokal, Lviv oblast. In 1921-1922 he studied at the Lviv art-industrial school in 1922 – 1927 – in the Cracow-1927 – 1929 – in Paris. From 1947 to 1974 he taught at the Lviv Institute of applied and decorative art. People's artist of the USSR since 1989. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. Lived and worked in Lviv.
