Born in Tatarskom the nasleg Namsky ulus. In 1945 he enrolled in the Yakut art College, where he met his wonderful teachers-painters p. P. Romanov, F. T. Pavlov.
One of the first appears in his work, the reportage series of paintings devoted to the construction of the diamond of the Peace – city, which still did not appear on the map ("the New home of diamond workers", 1957; "Neil Diamond-producing factory", "Dancing in Peace", "peace under construction", 1959, etc.). Thirty years V. G. Petrov gave the Museum work. You can tell the Museum – his long-nurtured brainchild. When the artist was young, the Museum has formed him as a person, as a painter. In Mature time he headed the staff of the Museum. Now, when maturity came wisdom, and his best works are rightly included in the Yakut national Treasury.
