Japanese Impressionists

Known fact: traditional Japanese prints had a tremendous influence on the French Impressionists. But there was a feedback effect. In the second half of the XIX century, along with traditional Japanese painting (nihonga) began to develop the Japanese painting in the Western style (yoga). Of course, many Japanese artists who took on canvas and oil (traditional painting prefer paper, silk, ink and water paints) fell in love with French impressionism. Many of them went to Europe for teachers (e.g., Umehara, Ryuzaburo managed to take lessons from Renoir), types (in this collection you will see and Cannes, and Eiffel tower) and wild life modern art (note how generously blended in the paintings of Japanese artists the techniques of the Impressionists, expressionists, fauves).
