Monet visited Sandvika in Norway in early 1895. During his stay, he wrote a few views of the city and the surrounding landscape, with a mountain ridge Colas with participation in many paintings, either in the background or as the main subject. Perhaps the most famous of the paintings is "Sandviken village in snow" which features the løkke bridge in the foreground and Colas in the background. The bridge still stands in Sandvika today.
