The first teacher of the future artist was his father Orlov Sergey Alexandrovich (1886-1951), who was educated in the famous Kiev drawing school of artist Murashko N.I. and in the Penza Art School at the famous traveling painter Savitsky K.A. The artist's grandfather was an icon painter, serf of Count Sheremetiev. He graduated in 1932 from Kharkov Art School and in 1933 moved with his family to Taganrog, where he taught drawing in the 13th and 14th city schools. The work of the artist "Parachutistka" was critically noted in an article on the exhibition of city artists in the newspaper "Taganrogskaya Pravda" on June 30, 1936. Returning to Taganrog after the war, he continued to work in the Taganrog branch of the "Vsekohudozhudozhnik" partnership. The war trials experienced by the artist were reflected in the cycle of works "In fascist captivity", which was demonstrated in 1946 at the first post-war city art exhibition. In 1946, the artist was accepted as a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR and expelled three years later for having been in German captivity.
