An auditor student at the Academy of fine Arts until 1850; he Received medals: in 1848 - 1 silver for the painting "three girls"; in 1849 - 2 silver for the sketch of "the Merciful Samaritan"; in 1850 - 2 gold for the painting "the prodigal son returns to the father"; in the same year the title of class artist; in 1851 1 gold for the program "the First Christian martyrs in Kiev."
