Filosofovich Gavrilov

Member of the Union of artists of the USSR. One of my favorite and talented students Vladimir Timofeev. Born in Sokol, in the family of a carpenter. In 1937-1939 after Ms. school No1 studied at the Ryazan art College, but never finished it - it was necessary to help the family. Began working as a drawing teacher, the rest of the time spent on sketches. He was particularly good portraits, of which he wrote very much. In Sokol history Museum a portrait of a father and a self-portrait Gavrilov. He had become a member of several major exhibitions in Vologda, Arkhangelsk, where his work was noticed and some of them acquired. Died Gavrilov in 1943 at the age of 21 from cancer of the feet
