Until the end of life N.. Lavrov wrote many portraits of famous people (and painted many of the churches and temples of the country). A special place in his creativity is occupied by portraits of the Emperor Alexander II. One, designed for the Military-juridical Academy and presented at the academic exhibition in 1872, attracted wide interest. This is understandable, because the image of the individual is outstanding (and the Emperor was a great man) — the constant desire of any talented portrait painter and, therefore, an object of attraction for many art lovers.
