Honored artist of Russia.
Born in 1951 in Moscow. He graduated from the Moscow state art Institute. V. I. Surikov (1975), studied at M. V. Motorina, E. A. Kibrik, N. L. Voronkova.
Already in the early leaves of Andrei Lopatina, there has been interest in genre scenes.
One of the important recent themes of his art — is the theme of ecology. Initially, it was conceived as the theme of "city through the eyes of a citizen", but gradually grew into a large series of works called "habitat". The artist seeks in his work the answers to the questions: how, where, and among which we live?
For his works he was awarded the diploma of the Academy of arts. His works are in State Tretyakov gallery, in private collections in Germany and Norway.
