Was a multi-talented person: a professional mathematician and a painter, an Amateur musician. He received a classical and then a University education; know Latin, Greek and German, self-taught in French. Because of his birth in 1892 he was destined to be personally involved in all the tragic events of the twentieth century: the First world war, where he served as an artillery officer in the army of General brussiloff, in the civil war and the great Patriotic war.
