Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

In 1951 he graduated from the faculty of architectural-artistic ceramics industrial art to them. V. I. Mukhina. In 1951-1959 he worked on LSHS, and later under contracts since 1960, the artist, the KPI of the Leningrad branch of the RSFSR CP. Created lighting, compositions and decorative flower vases, bowls, wine sets, decanters, wine glasses. Continued emerged in the Petrine era, the tradition of releasing special decorative objects of glass in honor of important historical events. The artist created a monumental vase, dedicated to the 250th anniversary of Leningrad and space exploration. For art characterized by the use of two-layered colorless and colored glass, techniques are wide and diamond patterns, Guten machinery, application of large ground planes and the attraction to monumentality of composition. Y. A. Muntyan worked on the creation of interiors and decoration of the palaces of culture of the city of Navoi, Shevchenko, Cherepovets, Kostroma, Leningrad (Assembly hall of the state Academy of Forestry engineering, in-House café cinema, "Kronstadt hall" of the hotel "Pribaltiyskaya"), Musical drama theater in Simferopol, performed work on contracts in the factories of "Rebellion" in them.
