Beschreibung des Kunstwerks «♪ Twilight on the Periphery ♪»
There is no pre-conceived meaning in this painting. When I paint, I am only interested in creating a harmonious composition and the beauty of execution, in conveying the spirit. All the images appear here because they wanted to. What they want to convey to us by their appearance usually becomes clear to me only after some time. And not always. And I'm not always the first to understand what the picture I've painted is about. I haven't figured this one out yet. It's just associations and metaphors. The language of metaphors, images, allegories and parables are masks, shapeshifters of meanings. How important it sometimes seems to find meaning amidst the swirling chaos of incompatible fragments of modernity. But dusk crowds clarity and darkness descends, but then comes a new dawn and everything is clear again, and the midnight fog is dispelled. And it seems to be an endless cycle. A cycle of swinging, inhaling and exhaling, up and down, light and darkness..... Everywhere the periphery and everywhere the center. As for the genre, you can call it whatever you like: surrealism, symbolism, metaphorical neo-romanticism, decorative realism - it doesn't seem important to me.
