A record half a million people visited the Eugène Delacroix retrospective at the Louvre, which closed in July of 2018 before its reopening at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this fall. In Paris, 180 works gave a full view of the French painter’s ouevre, while slightly fewer works will be shown in New York. Some 540,000 visitors made this the most-visited show in Louvre history.

Gustav Klimt’s Apple Tree II (1916) was pulled from exhibition “Gustav Klimt: Artist of the Century”  after it turned out that its restitution was wrong.

A Claude Monet’s painting “Effet de Brouillard” (1872), believed to have been missing since 1895, is to go on view in a forthcoming exhibition at the National Gallery in London. Exhibition will examine French artist’s relationship with architecture. This painting was recently found by art historian Richard Thomson, who conducted a simple Google search to solve this puzzle.

For the last 50 years the Danish public has been able again to experience a large exhibition devoted exclusively to van Gogh’s paintings and drawings.
