Graduated from Riga Academy of arts (1956), 1960 and taught there from 1973 Professor, 1974-76 Chancellor. Ist. and genre scenes, "the Men return" (1957), "Calloused hands" (1962), "Immortality" (1968), "the Fisherman of the river Daugava" (1980), etc.
