Vasilevich Kalinin

Painter, graphic artist. Graduated from Abramtsevo art.-prom. Uch-school (1963). Lived in Moscow, since 1962, worked as an interior decorator in various. organizations. From the 1960s was part of the Lianozovo group of artists and poets (artists E. Kropivnitsky, O. Rabin, O. Potapova, N. Vechtomov, Masterkova, Nemukhin, Kropivnitsky, V., Lev Kropivnitsky, the poets Vladimir Nekrasov, G. Sapgir, Igor Kholin, etc.). One of the representatives of Sov. hood. underground from 1965 participated in the "informal" exhibitions since 1969 has been exhibited abroad. Picturesque genre scenes, portraits, still lifes – "the commandant's tower. The most characteristic of his paintings 1960-70-ies on the themes of fancy-colored life "underground" Bohemia, written in the spirit of carnivalism.

In 1976, the Moscow artists of the "informal people" joined in the painting section of the Moscow United Committee of the Union of graphic artists, which was located on Malaya Gruzinskaya, 28. The basement of the "House of Vysotsky" in Malaya Gruzinskaya street was for many years permanent exhibitions, a constant participant of whom was Vladimir Kalinin. Audience excitement was so great that people long hours in any weather defended on the street, the unimaginable length of the queue, though at a rapid pace through "exhibition in the basement."

But years passed, and now the paintings Kalinina presented not only in the Tretyakov gallery and the Russian Museum, they rightfully adorn the walls of major museums in the world.

In 1991, Kalinin went to the United States and settles in Los Angeles. But in 1996, he was again in Russia.

From 8 October to 9 November 2008, the anniversary exhibition of Vyacheslav Kalinin "My Zamoskvorechie" in the Tretyakov gallery (Lavrushinsky lane, Engineering building). The exposition was timed to the 70th anniversary of the artist and presented a detailed report of all periods of his work over 40 years.
