An auditor student at the Academy of fine arts. Received medals: in 1834 – 2 silver; in 1836 – 1 silver; in 1839 – 2 gold for the program: "the Project theatre school". In 1835 the title of a free artist. In 1848, determined by the senior teacher in architectural drawing classes and a member of the Conference thereof. In 1861 he received the title of academician and determined by the senior teacher of perspective in architecture school. 1864 – the assistant curator of the museums of the Academy of arts. In 1865 – the title of honorary member. In 1875 he was appointed librarian of the Academy of arts. In 1883 the title of Professor of the Academy of arts. In 1887 transferred to the post of curator of the museums of the Academy of arts with the preservation office. Teacher training classes Academy of arts. It so happened that the painting has occupied only a small period of time in the works of Fyodor Andreyevich Klages. Children's success in drawing led him to the Academy of fine arts (1830), where he studied architecture under the guidance of brother "Charles the Great" — A. P. Bryullov. Like his teacher F. Klages was a fine draughtsman and a wonderful watercolorist. For success in the Academy received small and large silver, small gold coin. After graduating from the Academy (1839) participated as assistant architect in construction of many famous palaces and buildings.
