The winner of the Award of the Central Federal District in the field of literature and art.

In 1980 he graduated from Penza art College named. K. A. Savitsky.

In 1980-1986 studied at the Moscow State Art Institute. V. I. Surikov in the portrait Studio of Professor B. A. dehtyareva.

In 1989 he joined the Union of Artists of the USSR.

The main focus of the art of Boris Olshansky is the historical epic of the Slavic Rus'. Landmark works of art: "Remember my name" (1992), "Birth of a warrior" (1997), "Rosalie" (1998), "Sadko" (1999), "Russian Requiem" (2000), "Glory to Russia. Your shield on the gates of Constantinople" (2006).

Solo exhibitions were held in Moscow (1999, 2000), Tambov (1993, 1999, 2006), Kirsanov (2007), Turku (Finland, 2001).

Works are in private collections.
