He received his artistic education at the Moscow Stroganov school in the studios of K. A. Korovin And S. V. Ivanov, from which he graduated in 1904
At the end of the Stroganov school went to Paris, where he studied at the Beaux-arts and in private academies, Colorossi, Siemens and participated in exhibitions.
In 1908 he returned to Russia and for four years taught in Vetluga and Kazan.
Participated as a private in the imperialist war.
In 1918 he took part in the agitation trains, and later worked on the poster and illustration, leaving work on easel painting.
