Born in the village of Danilovo in Shuya district of Ivanovo-Voznesensk province. In 1938 he graduated from the Palekh art school. Teachers - A. V. Kotuhin, N. M.Zinoviev. Since 1938 worked in the Association of Palekh artists. Died 10 Dec 1973, buried in Palekh.
Themes of works: folklore, history, modern. Participated in exhibitions since 1950. I. A. Chelysheva are stored in museums: gmpi, PIM, Ivanovo OC.
