Stepanovich Tkachenko

Was born in Kharkov. Initial art education has received in the Kharkov real school. Espartero. In 1879 he entered the St. Petersburg Academy of arts. He studied with Pavel Chistyakov, V. Orlov, M. Klodt. From 1881 to 1888 for excellence in drawing and painting was awarded all mounted medals: small and large silver and gold. Graduated from the College with the title of the artist 1st degree. In 1888 went to a pensioner's trip to France. He studied at the Academy F. Cormon in Paris (1888 – 1892). Lived mainly in Paris, where he enjoyed the advice of A. Bogolyubov. Permanent participant of Parisian Salons since 1891. The first painter of the main naval staff of Russia from 1901. The main subject of works were seascapes. Works are kept in National art Museum of Ukraine, Museum collections in Kharkiv, Lviv and other cities.
