Aleksandrovich Swaykin

Painter. Member of the Union of artists of the USSR.

Born into a poor peasant family. From an early age showed an inclination for drawing.

In 1928, he arrived in Moscow to take the examination at the Moscow school of painting, sculpture and architecture, which goes to 1930 and 1933 to studying (professors A. I. Kuprin, S. V. Gerasimov). Training continues at the Leningrad Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture at the faculty of fine arts, which he graduated from in 1935.

In 1948, after returning from the front joins the Moscow Union of Artists. In 1950 begins active exhibition activities (all-Union, Republican, zone exhibitions).

Bright representative of the Moscow school of painting, master of lyrical landscape in the spirit of masters of the Union of Russian artists (1903-1925). Most of the heritage the author brought to the West in the early 1990s.

Works are represented in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
