Painter, graphic artist movie.
He studied at the Odessa art school, Free art workshops in Moscow. Participant of exhibitions since 1916.
Worked in Samara from 1919 to 1921. Organized in Buzuluk (Orenburg region) co-operative of artists which is engaged in campaign design and decorative art. S. Y. Adlivankin led Studio program Free art workshops, published the newspaper.
Was head of the section FROM Samara Proletkult later authorized the people's Commissariat of the Samara Higher art and technical studios (VHUTEMAS).
Got to the Samara regional Museum of art around 120 works of the Moscow avant-garde artists.
As the artist experimented in Cubo-futuristic direction.
In late 1921 he went to Moscow.
At the first exhibition of Moscow art group "the New society of painters" ("KNIFE") exhibited his paintings – "the Commissioner of the Samara VKhUTEMAS" (1922), "self-Portrait with family" (1922), "Portrait of my parents" (1922), made in the style of neo-primitivism.
