"Old World Skin" project by Inna Grinchel

"Leather of the Old World" is a peculiar reinterpretation of historical memory, given through the return of tactile-tangible corporeality of the history, which was reflected in the photographs of the artist's family archive. The juxtaposition of the everyday reality and personal destiny, conveyed through the interaction between the photodocument and the old leather plates, which bear the imprint of the historically-extended time, raises the artistic expression from the accidental to the generalized.
